GOUT ..HOMEOPATHIC TREATMENT











Gout is a complex form of arthritis.. it can affect all ages. Men are more likely to effect by gout, but women also increasingly susceptible to gout after menopause.

The first attack of gout can occur suddenly, often waking up in the middle of the night with the sensation of great burning in big toe. The gout affected joint is hot, swollen and tender, even the weight of the sheet is intolerable.

The signs and symptoms of gout

Extreme joint pain:
 Gout usually affects the large joint of big toe, but it can occur in  other joints like feet, ankles, knees, hands and wrists. The pain is most severe within the first four to 12 hours.

Persistent discomfort: 
After the first attack pain subsides, some joint discomfort may last for few days. Later attacks more joints.

Inflammation and redness:
The affected joint or joints become red,swollen, tender and warm.

Restricted Joint motion: 
Decreased in joint mobility may occur in gout.

Gout can be diagnosed by signs and symptoms confirmed by increased uric acid levels in blood.

Factors that increase the uric acid level in  body are:

* Diet
 Eating diet high in meat and seafood and beverages sweetened with fruit sugar increases higher levels of uric acid, which is a risk factor for gout. Alcohol consumption, especially of beer increases the risk of gout.

* Obesity: 
favours the production of more uric acid by producing more stress on kidney which is a great risk factor for gout.

*  Medical conditions: 
 high blood pressure and chronic conditions such as diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and heart and kidney diseases favour the formation of uric acid.
Some medications:  Like Thiazide diuretics used to treat hypertension  and low-dose aspirin can increase uric acid levels.
* Family history of gout: Can provoke the gout forming tendency.
* Age and sex: Gout occurs more in men than women. But postmenopausal women may affect with gout as like men.
* Recent surgery or trauma.

 Trauma, injuries are precipitating factors for gout.

People with gout can develop more-severe conditions.If left untreated, gout can cause erosion or destruction of a joint.Untreated gout cause deposits of urate crystals to form in nodules under the skin called tophi (TOE-fie). Tophi can develop in fingers, hands, feet, elbows or Achilles tendons on  backs of ankles.
